Latest Update: 28/1/2022

From today Wales has loosened restrictions down to Level zero. The main points are:

  • An NHS COVID Pass is still needed for large indoor events, nightclubs, cinemas, theatres and concert halls
  • In hospitality, there are no restrictions on meeting people and no requirement for table service or 2 metre physical distancing
  • Face coverings are still required on public transport and in most indoor public places
  • How we are dealing with Covid at Isfryn:

    Vacant Times

At the moment, we’re leaving Isfryn empty for at least 48 hours between each booking, as recommended by AirBnB, so you know you are not immediately following another set of guests in.

We have cleaned the cottage in accordance with strict cleaning protocols issued by AirBnB and the Welsh Government. You may notice that on some surfaces, which we would usually polish to a shine, there will appear to be a film of dried droplets of liquid. This is disinfectant. When we’re cleaning, the final job required by the protocols is that we spray disinfectant on all frequently touched surfaces like handles, light pulls, remote controls etc. We then leave and close the room, leaving the disinfectant to air dry. We’re not allowed back in to polish it all up!

Guidelines for hosts suggest that we must remove all surplus crockery from the house and leave a useable minimum behind. If you require anything that isn’t here, please just ask us. All crockery, cutlery and pans will have been through a hot dishwasher cycle before your arrival.

To minimise risks to us when we’re cleaning, the AirBnB protocols ask that guests please strip the beds of pillow cases and quilted pillow protectors, duvet covers and sheets and place these in the bin bags provided. Towels and used robes should be placed in a separate bin bag. Thank you very much in advance for helping us with this. We will leave bin bags in the bedroom.

    Books and DVDs

We have taken the decision not to remove books and DVDs from the house as we think they are important home comforts for our guests. Please be aware that it is impossible for us to disinfect them, but we felt we should leave you with the option to use them if you would like to. They will have been left untouched for a minimum of 2 days before your visit.

What if you develop COVID Symptoms?

Welsh government guidelines state: If you start displaying symptoms of COVID-19 whilst staying at Isfryn, then you (and anyone travelling with you) should return home as quickly as possible, if well enough to do so. You must use the most direct route, and should not use public transport. You should then self-isolate immediately and follow the self-isolation guidance. The person with symptoms should apply for a free COVID-19 antigen test, preferably at a convenient location close to your home as soon as possible.

If you are not well enough to travel or cannot organise private transport home on developing symptoms then you should order a test from here (via or by calling 119 between 7am and 11pm).

If you test positive for COVID-19 when staying with us, then you must follow the contact tracing guidance that will be provided directly to you by the NHS Wales Test, Trace, Protect service. The service will contact you as soon as you receive a positive test.

We will have disinfected your set of keys before you arrive. Please drop your keys off in our post box on the front gatepost when you leave.

    Just Ask

If you need anything at all during your stay, please don’t hesitate to ask us. We wish you a relaxed and enjoyable time here.
