Hi, we're Linda & Steve.

When we met in 2012, we were living in East Anglia, where Steve worked as a telecommunications designer and Linda was a senior manager in a charity. By 2015, we'd decided that that was enough of all that, and it was time for a new adventure. A few glasses of wine in a local wine bar with property searches open on a laptop and suddenly we were throwing it all in and moving to Wales! It's something of a homecoming. Linda was born and raised in South Wales and Steve is half-Welsh. Both our families have roots in North Wales and a couple of generations back were first-language Welsh speakers. We've been learning Welsh for over five years now, so we hope they would approve! We both love the outdoors, and this beautiful area answers our needs for climbing and mountain biking (Steve), walking and exploring (both of us) and swimming (Linda). We both love the local history, too.

We've both travelled quite a lot and still enjoy getting out and seeing the world. Living here feels like a permanent holiday, but now and then we enjoy the buzz of immersing ourselves in city breaks. Rome is our favourite city, but we have a long list still to explore.

Our aim for Isfryn Cottage was to create the kind of place that we'd like to stay in ourselves. We'd want somewhere bright and welcoming, comfortable, well-equipped and feeling more like a home than a sparse holiday let. We bought nice crockery, handmade mugs and original art for the walls, because we felt it would all add to the feeling of our guests being looked after and spoilt a little - which is what we think holidays should be about.

Welsh language, food and culture are key to the lovely Dyfi Valley where we live, and we wanted to reflect that in Isfryn. We both love cooking, so we decided to combine excellent Welsh produce with home made goodies to provide a Welcome Basket which gives our guests a real taste of Wales. We use as many Eco-friendly cleaning products as we can and buy from local shops and businesses to try to keep the area and the planet thriving.

We really love this place, and it's a pleasure to be able to share it with people who come to stay.
